Best Food Forward Guesthouse
The guesthouse is located approx. 5 min. from the train station and approx. 10 min. from the starting point of the WHW at the obelisk. The owners are very friendly and make you feel comfortable at once. The breakfast is Scottish and every guest has it’s own little flag on the table, showing where he comes from. So you can see the nationality of each walker. This is a very nice gesture.
Glenalva
The questhouse is located directly at the main street in direction of Garadhban Forest. Mrs. Fraser is very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is typically Scottish. The guesthouse is about 15 min. away from "The Clachan" – which complicates the way home in the evening quite a bit.
Rowardenan Youth Hostel
Das Youth Hostel sieht aus wie ein kleines Schloß und liegt direkt am Loch Lomond. Ein schönes Plätzchen um zu verweilen. Die Familie Carter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind klein und das Frühstück laßt für den Preis zu wünschen übrig.
Inverarnan Drovers Lodge
The Inverarnan Drovers Lodge is located exactly opposite to the Drovers Inn.The clean rooms (king-size bed in our case) include bath/shower.
The staff is very friendly and the breakfast rich. The Drovers Inn across the road is an old, cosy and traditional tavern with it’s very own atmosphere.
Glengarry House
The Glengarry House is located a bit outside of the town Tyndrum. You can already see it from your way. Family Nixon is very kind and helpful. The rooms are en suite, the breakfast is rich and tasty.
Inveroran Hotel
The hotel is located directly at the West Highland Way nearby Loch Tulla. You can already see it from Mam Carraigh. The rooms are small but very comfortable, The food is typically Scottish style. The Walkers Bar, which is inside the hotel, invites you to stay and to have a conversation with other walkers.
MacDonalds Hotel
The MacDonalds Hotel is located directly at the West Highland Way. The interior is typically Scottish. The rooms are relative large. Inside the hotel you find a Bar, with a pool table, in which you also can eat in the evenings. The breakfast is Scottish.
Distillery Guest House
The Guest Hotel is located a few metres away from the West Highland Way - arriving at Fort William, on the right side, at the River Nevis. The house is more like a hotel than a guesthouse. The town centre is quite a few minutes away, but still in a walking distance. The staff is very friendly and obliging. The rooms are en suite and the interior is modern. In the morning a breakfast buffet awaits you.
